In view of increasing penalties levied by immigration authorities of Georgia on the ships breaking the recommended course for approaching Batumi/Poti/Supsa/Kulevi roads and entering the prohibited areas please strictly follow the course indicated in admiralty charts for Georgian ports issued after 1999.

PROCEDURE: All vessels and aircrafts in the Georgian SRR are requested to report oil pollution and accidents which could lead to pollution. The report, which is free of charge, should be sent through MRCC Georgia.

 

CONTENT OF REPORT:

The message should commence with the word  “GEOPOLREP” and contain the following information:

(a)  Date and name of oil pollution.

(b) Position.

(c)  Wind direction and speed at sea surface.

(d)  Sea state.

(e)  Origin of pollution, e.g. collision, stranding.

(f)   Name, tonnage, and nationality of vessel causing pollution.

(g)  Names of vessels in the vicinity.

(h)  Information of type of oil.

(i)   Dimensions of oil slick (width and length), estimated amount of oil spilled, any possible information on thickness of oil layer.

(j)   Measures already taken by the Captain to stop future escape of oil or to combat floating oil.

(k)  Details of observer.

19. Vsl's ETA to be sent once the ship has instructed to proceed Kulevi. Master to keep Terminal/Port Authorities informed via agent regarding ETA/Passage Prospects for Turkish Straits/ETA Kulevi twice per day. Master to confirm Best ETA Kulevi immediately upon passage Dardanelles/Bosphorus completed.

The Harbour Master Office or agent will inform the ship of anticipated berthing time. All vessels visiting the terminal must comply with the STCW regulations on hours of work for officers and crew.

21. As per Kulevi Port Authorities rules and regulations master is to cable the following information 72 hrs prior the ship's arvl:
