Pump Stations

For the offloading of oil products from railway tank cars to the storage tanks and for transshipment to the seam tankers the terminal is equipped with pump stations for the:

  • Offloading of gas oil and low viscosity crude oil from railway tank cars and the loading of gas oil to the sea tankers (pump station No20);
  • Offloading of fuel oil and high viscosity crude oil, which require heating during discharge from railway tank cars (pump station No19);
  • Loading of fuel oil and crude oil to the sea tankers and circulated heating (pump station No21).
  • Offloading of methanol, gasoline/naphtha and other lightweight products from railway tank cars and loading to the sea tankers (pump station No90);
  • Offloading of pyrolysis resins from railway tank cars and loading to the sea tankers (pump station No96);
  • Offloading of industrial oils and isopropyl alcohol from railway tank cars and loading to the sea tankers (pump station No96-1);

Pump stations are equipped with pumps with a working capacity of 1 000 to 4 000 m3/h, which are designed for performance of following operations:

  • Loading of gas oil to the sea tankers;
  • Gas oil transfer between storage tanks;
  • Offloading of gas oil and low-viscosity crude oil from railway tank cars and loading to the storage tanks with loading rate of 2 000 m3/h;
  • Circulation, heating and offloading of fuel oil and high viscosity crude oil from railway tank cars and loading to the storage tanks;
  • Loading of sea tankers with fuel and crude oil with a loading rate of 1 000, 2 000, 4 000, 8 000 m3/h and for crude oil 12 000 m3/h with simultaneous connection of three loading arms.
  • Fuel oil and crude oil transfer between storage tanks with a loading rate of 4 000 m3/h.
  • Circulated heating of high-viscosity oil products in storage tanks with a loading rate of 1 000 and 2 000 m3/h.
  • Offloading of methanol, gasoline/naphtha and other lightweight products from railway tank cars and loading to the sea tankers;
  • Offloading of pyrolysis resins from railway tank cars and loading to the sea tankers;
  • Offloading of industrial oils and isopropyl alcohol from railway tank cars and loading to the sea tankers.

For circulated heating of high viscosity oil products, the related pump stations are equipped with heat exchangers, which heat the oil products up to the set temperature during offloading/ loading operations, as well as during transfer operations between storage tanks. In addition, for offloading of high viscosity oil products unloading railway trestle No3 is equipped with 42 units of individual heating-circulating systems, so called Modules.

All operations in the pump stations are controlled via a central control room using the SCADA automated control system. Information about all operation parameters such as pressure, temperature, the operation mode of the equipment etc. are obtained using the appropriate instrumentation installed on the technological lines and equipment. Also, the unit is provided with all the necessary systems for accident prevention and response, such as LEL gas analyzers, emergency shutdown valves, and automatic fire suppression systems.

Fire water pump station

The fire water pump station is designed for the supply of water and foam to the suppression areas. The pump station is equipped with:

  • pumps for the water supply to the cooling system of the storage tanks, water suppression of the berths and water supply for the suppression from hydrants - 4 units (3 main and 1 reserve);
  • pumps  for water supply for fire suppression systems of buildings of the terminal with a capacity of 20 liters per second, flow height of 40 m – 2 units (1 main and 1 reserve);
  • Pumps for supply of foam solution to the suppression system of storage tanks, berth and process pump stations – 4 units (3 main and 1 reserve);
  • Pumps  for the dosage of foam agent – 4 units (3 main and 1 reserve)
  • Circulating pump
  • Submersible pump for the supply of water to the fire water storage tanks from the river;
  • Submersible pump for supply of water to the fire water storage tanks from the ponds of treated water.

The spare foam agent is stored in three storage tanks with a capacity of 20 cubic meters each. For the provision of water reserve, the pumping station is equipped with two steel vertical tanks with a volume of 3 050 cubic meters each. The filling of water tanks during firefighting is performed via two water sources:

  • From the river via the FLYGT submersible pumps with a capacity of 50 liters per second, and a flow height of 25m;
  • From the pond of treated water via FLYGT submersible pumps with capacity of 280 liters per second, and a flow height of 25m.
