IMS Internal Audit 2021

The IMS Internal Audit process is an important part of BST’s Safe Management System.

On March 2021, an internal audit was conducted within the Maintenance and Transport & Machinery Departments. The main objective was to assess the compliance of company processes against the requirements of established international standards including ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environment Management System), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) and other work procedures.



Risk-based NDT Inspection of Terminal’s Facilities

At Kulevi Oil Terminal, since the date of its establishment, in frames of the Integrity Management Strategy monitoring and inspection activities are being carried out that ensure the facility remains fit to its purposes.


One of these activities is continuous NDT inspection process, which involves various inspection (ultrasonic, x-ray, vacuum testing, magnetic particle testing, visual inspection) and monitoring techniques, data collection, analysis, reporting and corrective actions. In particular, storage tanks and pipeline systems, steel structures and separate equipment are covered by this process.



Nowruz - A Celebration of Spring!

Nowruz is one of the oldest, historically significant holidays celebrated by diverse communities around the world. It was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and the United Nations recognized March 21 as the International Day of Nowruz.


Observed by people for over 3,000 years, many legends are associated with Nowruz, including rituals, ceremonies and cultural events; all of them are connected with nature, fruitfulness, kindness and love.




Charities are an integral part of every community. Charities change the lives of people in need every day – even the smallest donations have a large impact on their health and wellbeing.


The Azerbaijani Business Association in Georgia (AZEBI) holds many charitable events. Kulevi Oil Terminal has recently signed a memorandum with AZEBI as an act of solidarity to support people in need. Our management fully supports the initiative of the Azerbaijani Business Association in Georgia and takes an active part in various charitable events.



Annual Environmental Monitoring Report for 2020

The 2020 Environmental Monitoring Report has been prepared and submitted to the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. According to an agreement between Black Sea Terminal (BST) and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia (MoE), BST will conduct environmental monitoring of BST facilities and the adjacent areas. The environmental monitoring process is described in the Environmental Monitoring and Measurement scheme approved by the MoE.


Environmental monitoring is aimed at measuring, controlling and mitigating any negative influence on the environment resulting from the operation of BST. 



Employee Performance Management at Black Sea Terminal

Employee performance appraisal is an important function for personnel management, selecting the right candidate, and conducting employee assessments. The main purpose of an employee assessment is to measure the effectiveness of the work performed by the employee. This can be seen as a process of determining compliance with established policies and worker expectations.


The annual employee performance appraisal at Black Sea Terminal has three main functions:

In the modern world, the protection of women's rights and gender equality is a very important issue. For the women employed at Black Sea Terminal (BST), the principles of gender equality are fully respected.


At BST, women are provided with health insurance, professional/career development opportunities, and are protected from all types of discrimination, this in turn ensures that women at BST continue to make significant contributions to the overall achievements of the company.



Emergency Response Drills at Marian B Hopper dredger

Continuous maintenance of the required depths at Kulevi Port’s approach channel and water area is very important in ensuring safe navigation and a timely response to customer expectations for the berthing of sea tankers of varying sizes. Black Sea Terminal (BST) operates the Marian B hopper dredger to achieve this objective. Periodical dredging is conducted in the approach channel located in the Khobitskhali River mouth, and the Marion B dredger plays an important role. 



BST Observes the 29th Anniversary of the Khojaly Tragedy

Nearly three decades later, the Khojaly tragedy remains embedded in the minds of the Azerbaijani people. The tragedy, which claimed the lives of many civilians, was one of the bloodiest in Azerbaijan’s history.


29 years ago, on February 26, 1992, soon after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the heavily-armed Armenian army invaded the Nagorno-Karabakh city of Khojaly from various directions and attacked peaceful civilians who resided there. 



HSE Joint Site Inspection at BST

The Joint Site Inspection (JSI) process at Black Sea Terminal (BST) was started in 2013. At the beginning of 2021, the process of conducting Joint Site Inspections have been optimized and upgraded. The JSI process was developed by BST Management provides guidelines for effective implementation and performance of site inspections by BST personnel. JSI is an integral part of Black Sea Terminal’s Safe Operation System and covers all operations and site operated by terminal.
