Semi-annual transshipment statistics

In the first half of 2020, Kulevi Oil Terminal undertook close cooperation with SOCAR’s Marketing and Operations Department, working with customers to efficiently utilize the terminal’s storage and transshipment capacities, as well as mobilizing the company’s transshipment resources. As a result, Kulevi Oil Terminal increased transshipped volumes by 20% (based on dispatched volume) and 33% (based on the received products) in comparison with the same period of 2019.

The total volume in the first six months of 2020 was 950,000 tons of hydrocarbons and petrochemical products. It is worth noting that during the first half of 2020, the terminal began the transshipment of benzene, which is a new product in the transshipment corridor. This is a considerable achievement taking into consideration that the whole region has been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 virus.

More than 57% of the transshipped hydrocarbon products within the first half of 2020 originated in Azerbaijan and 43% of other oil products producing other countries of the region.
