Port facility security

Port facility security is a key function that affects all aspects of port operations - from the safety of personnel and equipment to the security of the cargo. It includes physical perimeter security, which can be defined as systems and technologies that protect people and assets within a facility and its grounds by blocking unauthorized physical intrusions across the perimeter.

Based on the last port facility security assessment conducted by Black Sea Terminal (BST), the recommendations were made to enhance the port’s perimeter security, in particular, upgrading the fencing that surrounds the premises. BST’s Maintenance Department has already begun the upgrade process of the facility’s perimeter fencing, and this process is taking place under the close supervision of the HSSEQ Department to ensure that the work meet BST security standards and requirements.

BST has an integrated approach to port security, the goal of which is to maintain an acceptable level of risk posed by unlawful actors.
