The importance of ethical hacker training

As the internet continues to evolve, so do cyber crimes. Cyber criminals do not need to leave their homes, and can easily hack into any computer with a few clicks of a mouse and an internet connection. So, in order to battle these cyber criminals, every organization needs to have their IT personnel trained in ethical hacking.

A computer or networking expert who is trained in ethical hacking can penetrate into a computer or networking system on behalf of its owner for the purpose of detecting security vulnerabilities that a malicious hacker could have possibly exploited.

As part of the secured technical measures taken by Black Sea Terminal to ensure its network security and considering the importance of ethical hacking in the modern world, ethical hacker training is being organized at Kulevi Oil Terminal for the IT section of the Maintenance Department jointly with the EC-Council.  As part of this training course, employees will get acquainted with IoT hacking and vulnerability analysis, will be asked to focus on the emerging attack vectors-cloud, AI, ML and hacking challenges. The course will also cover the latest malware, the malware analysis process, the latest hacking tools and the phases of hacking – Reconnaissance, Enumeration, Gaining Access, Maintaining Access and Covering tracks. The training is conducted utilizing an online instructor and featuring an online lab that mimics real scenarios, as well as a video session.

At the end of the training course, an online examination is provided to determine the knowledge of the trainee and if the person has mastered the ethical hacking methodology to be used in a penetration testing or ethical hacking situation. Organizing this particular training course at the terminal is an indication of the advanced level of network security and its safe maintenance.

As the saying goes “Prevention is better than the cure”, and this is a mandatory training course for any organization and its IT team.
