Port facility security

Port facility security is a key function that affects all aspects of port operations - from the safety of personnel and equipment to the security of the cargo. It includes physical perimeter security, which can be defined as systems and technologies that protect people and assets within a facility and its grounds by blocking unauthorized physical intrusions across the perimeter.

 

Based on the last port facility security assessment conducted by Black Sea Terminal (BST), the recommendations were made to enhance the port’s perimeter security, in particular, upgrading the fencing that surrounds the premises.

The 30th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy

Today, Azerbaijan commemorates the 30th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy.

 

On January 20, 1990, the Soviet army forces entered Baku to suppress the masses protesting the USSR-supported Armenian aggression based on territorial claims against Azerbaijan.

 

On the night of January 19-20, 1990, 147 people were killed, 744 were injured and 841 were illegally arrested after Soviet troops entered Baku. The Soviet troops also destroyed 200 apartments and houses, as well as private and public property.

Supporting Disabled Children's Day Care Center

The care that the Lazare – 2015 Disabled Children's Day Care Center provides is both exceptional and unique, because their beneficiaries are pre-teenagers who are in need of special care, attention and at the same time need help in integrating into the community. 

 

In order to help support this daycare center, Black Sea Terminal (BST) had one of its representative visits the center and provide them with gifts. 

 

The meeting was very warm and emotional.

Fire-fighting system upgrade

A major aspect of the maintenance program at Black Sea Terminal (BST) is the upgrade and maintenance of the firefighting system.

 

The firefighting system must be regularly maintained and tested under the control of a planned maintenance system. The major challenge is the corrosion control of the firefighting lines. But with the qualified corrosion control team at Black Sea Terminal, and preventive measures like planned NDT and visual inspections of the system, BST is able to spot any potential risk or failure and intervene before something becomes a critical issue.

Updating of ERT documentation for 2020

An analysis of the results of the past year allows us to identify the weaknesses and shortcomings of our Emergency Response Team’s activity. As a result, measures are taken regularly to improve the situation.

 

For a better solution to the problems facing the department, a strong regulatory and documentary foundation is needed. To this end, by the beginning of the New Year, a review of all the relevant ERT documentation was conducted.

Black Sea Terminal supports socially vulnerable people

Black Sea Terminal (BST) continues to implement charitable projects. Several days ago, company representatives visited Kulevi Public School to deliver gifts to the students and teachers of the school.

 

More recently, BST launched another large social project on behalf of BST management by donating a large amount of food products, fruits and sweets to the socially vulnerable beneficiaries of the House of Virtue, located in the Khobi municipality.

Charity to support school

Black Sea Terminal (BST) has a long history of sponsoring Kulevi Public School, it's students and teachers and engaging in various charities. This year, representatives of BST visited the school to deliver gift packages to the teachers and children.

 

BST representatives were given a warm welcome, as the students performed beautiful songs in the Georgian, English and Azerbaijan languages to honor their guests. The students also performed a range of other songs, dance and skits, which included various humorous moments.

International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis

Since Azerbaijan has gained independence, every year on the 31st of December Azerbaijanis living in the Azerbaijani Republic and elsewhere celebrate World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day.

Founded by the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis honors Azerbaijani statehood, national and cultural values and patriotic spirit of Azerbaijani people. 

The idea of solidarity of the world Azerbaijanis, which has concerned our fellow countrymen and compatriots across the world for many years, has been elevated to a level of state policy.

For Black Sea terminal (BST), 2019 was a year of successful business, rapid development and financial stability. BST was able to increase the efficiency of its production processes, improve its working standards and maintain the reliability of its business partners by providing prompt, high-quality services to them while maintaining international standards. Regular Permit to Work audit process at Kulevi Oil Terminal

The Permit to Work form is a written system used to control certain types of work which have been identified as non-routine and potentially hazardous.
